Borough of Verdun

The Borough of Verdun has been a supporter of dragon boat racing since 1996, when the sport first arrived in Montreal. The Verdun Dragon Boat Club is immensely grateful for this support. It has enabled hundreds of men and women to live healthy, active lifestyles in their pursuit of sport excellence.

Thanks to the generosity of the Borough of Verdun, Verdun DBC has been able to compete at races across the country and the world. The Club has won the World Championships, the National Championships, the Provincial Cup, the Municipal Cup, and many other competitions.

Then-borough mayor Claude Trudel presents Verdun DBC representatives with a plaque of recognition.

Recently, the Borough recognized the contribution to their community of the volunteer managers of the Club. Verdun DBC was pleased to accept a plaque of thanks from the Borough of Verdun for its community efforts in the promotion of healthy living through sport.

Verdun DBC members are also happy to participate in annual activities such as the Nettoyage des Berges (the cleaning of Verdun's St. Lawrence River shoreline).

The Borough of Verdun is one of the 28 municipal districts that make up the City of Montreal. The Borough is located just south of the Lachine Canal where Verdun DBC trains in the summer season. The Club invites you to visit the Borough of Verdun's web site for more information.
